It is easy to enter. Just upload your pictures (in jpg format) to the site they will be considered by the judges, two very good East Anglian professional photographers. John Worrall, from Norfolk, specialises in landscape while Mike Kwasniak, from Ipswich, loves his work photographing theatrical productions.
This really is for everyone with sections for primary school children, those at secondary school, and those who are older. There are two categories — people in places, and the village and country around us. The pictures must be taken in and around Debenham. There is also a special section for pictures taken at Debenham Leisure Centre.
Twenty eight pictures will be selected for the exhibition whic will be on during the festival, in the Deben Lounge at the Leisure Centre. They will represent all the sections so everyone has a chance of having their pictures chosen.
If you already have pictures you would like to enter you can start uploading them now (but please read the details below first). But you have until June 2 to take lots more pictures to capture the spirit of the village and surrounding area.
We are looking for people who have the imagination to take good pictures. The sort of camera you have is not important and the winners could just as easily be using a mobile phone as a top of the range digital SLR. Its the photographer, not the camera, that makes the picture.
All the topics are open to wide interpretation. People in Places could be a relative peeling potatoes in the kitchen, someone riding a bike or a portrait against a village, or country background. The possibilities are endless.
The Village and Country around us could be taken in the heart of the village or in the surrounding countryside: a landscape to villagescape. One thing to remember though is that it is often the early bird that catches the worm as the light is often better in the early morning or the evening.
Before entering please read the details below.

Predictive by Anthony Thwaite
PredictiveI wanted Home but what I found was Good.
The system tricked me: I misunderstood.
The trees could not be seen for the dark wood.
The whole thing fitted snugly in my palm
And tried to pass its messages with calm
From palm to wrist and onward up the arm.
But something blocked intention. Whatever choice
Was left, unravelled: an uncertain voice
Spoke in oracular ambiguities.
So I am left with some dull metronome,
Counting mechanically. Again I come
To this, marked Good, when all I want is Home.
