Recordings of three of the literary events at the festival are available. You can hear Ann and Anthony Thwaite, Benedict Gummer and Bernadine Evaristo.

Bernadine Evaristo was at the Festival talking in the Parish Church as part of Suffolk Libraries Commuity Read programme. She read from Hello Mum which is featured in the country's Big Quick Read programme and explores the knife crime and teenage culture in London.

Benedict Gummer, the new MP for Ipswich, has also written a well-reviewed history of the Black Death. He talked about The Scourging Angel in the Red Lion on Saturday afternoon.

Anthony Thwaite, the poet, and Ann Thwaite his biographer wife, read and talked about their work in the Parish Church on Saturday evening. This superb event was made possible through the support of Suffolk Book League.

The recording starts with Anthony reading some of his poems. Later Ann talks about her recently published family history.

Predictive by Anthony Thwaite

Predictive
I wanted Home but what I found was Good.
The system tricked me: I misunderstood.
The trees could not be seen for the dark wood.

The whole thing fitted snugly in my palm
And tried to pass its messages with calm
From palm to wrist and onward up the arm.

But something blocked intention. Whatever choice
Was left, unravelled: an uncertain voice
Spoke in oracular ambiguities.

So I am left with some dull metronome,
Counting mechanically. Again I come
To this, marked Good, when all I want is Home.

Anthony Thwaite will be reading from his work
in the Parish Church on Saturday June 19, at 7.30pm
